Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce is my twist on a classic sweet-heat BBQ sauce. I developed this BBQ sauce when developing the recipe for our Dr. Pepper Chicken, which is a soda can chicken. It's a versatile sauce. You can remove the extra pepper and red chili to make this more of sweet sauce. While Texas isn't a "BBQ sauce state," Dr. Pepper was born in Waco Texas in the 1880s, so this was a fun project for me.
This recipe will yield just over a 16 ounce mason jar so increase based on how much you want to make!
