Bacon Wrapped Oreos - I was skeptical, but as the owner of a company that tries to inspire you to get outside and cook, I had to attempt this recent internet craze and bring you the method and results. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they turned out! They were not for everyone, but more people than not thought they would be a great party dish. Try them for yourself or kids and let us know!
Ingredients
- 24 Oreos
- 1 package regular sliced bacon
- Meat Church The Gospel All Purpose Seasoning (our Honey Hog or Holy Voodoo are also popular choices)
Prepare smoker at 250 with a lighter smoking wood such as pecan or a maple or fruit wood.Â
Slice the bacon in half creating 2 equal pieces. Wrap the bacon around the Oreo. You should be able to start and finish the bacon on the same side of the Oreo. Make that the bottom of the Oreo so it will hold together.
Season with The Gospel. Allow the seasoning to adhere for 15 minutes.
Place the Oreos on the cooking grate. Make sure the bacon seam is underneath. Smoke for 45 minutes at 250.Â
Remove from the smoker. Allow them to cool for 10 - 15 minutes and then enjoy!
